Iowa State University | Senior Research Project | December 2015
Conducted semester-long research project focusing on the effect the low-level jet has on the urban heat
island and precipitation in Des Moines, Iowa. Entered NARR & NAM data into GrADS software to visually
analyze data. Referenced Iowa Environmental Mesonet to seek convergence of evidence. Generated
correlations between the three aspects.
• Partnered with professor & dynamic meteorologist, Dr. Mike Chen, and Director of Meteorology
at Planalytics Inc., Michael Greve, to conduct research and form thesis
• Presented final thesis in front of the Thesis Committee and Meteorology Department. Final
grade over research and presentation was an A-.

Iowa State University Student Chapter American Meteorological Society
Active member Fall 2013- Spring 2016. Participated in Mobile Home Project, which focused on efforts to
pass a law in Iowa that requires all mobile home parks to have storm shelters. Volunteered for events as
needed.Attended 2015 & 2016 Central NWA Severe Storms and Doppler Radar conferences.
Participated in an Interactive Radar Warning Workshop. Operated GR2Anaylst and issued warnings via
WarnGen. Built connections with various professionals in the meteorological field.

In charge of all the kitchen operations. Executed hiring/firing of staff. Responsible for ordering from
multiple vendors. Conduct weekly inventory. Manage food cost/waste and labor from week to week.
Managed a 3+ million dollar store. Opened multiple restaurants. ServSafe Certified.
